CONGRATULATIONS TO THE
WOMEN'S CONSTRUCTION CENTRE

The South Yorkshire Women's Development Trust has been 'Highly Commended' at the National Training Awards for its Women in Non-traditional Trades and Technology (WINTT) project.

Project Co-ordinator Roz Wollen said:
"In relation to the construction industry South Yorkshire reflects the national picture, with nine per cent of those employed in professional roles being women and one per cent of tradespeople female.

"There was a need to change the culture at a grass roots levels, particularly with young women leaving school, and a need to change culture in the construction and engineering teaching professions."
